It was a dull Sunday afternoon for Kanturk Afc U11s' first home game of the season — and what a great match it was! After weeks of being on the road, the excitement was evident that the U11s finally got to play in front of their home crowd, and they didn’t disappoint.
From the first whistle, Kanturk showed great energy. The defenders worked hard to clear the ball, while the midfielders linked up with some brilliant passing, and with this, the goals began to flow for the home side, much to the delight of the crowd.
Ballincollig AFC fought strongly, but Kanturk didn’t lose focus. In the second half, the goalkeeper was called into action and made made some fantastic saves to keep the team in the game.
The final whistle brought huge smiles all around. There was great praise for the team’s teamwork, passing, and positive attitude. Cork Schoolboys League
