Kanturk AFC U15 girls took on Kinsale in Kinsale on Saturday afternoon. In very blustery conditions both sides put on a very entertaining game. 
Kanturk got into their stride right from the start. Scoring the first goal of the match when Katie Hourigan broke through the Kinsale defence to slot home. Kinsale came back and scored to make it 1 all and just before half time Kanturk got a second goal through a Katie Hourigan free kick. Going in at half time 2 - 1 up.
Kinsale started the brighter in the second half getting a few opportunities and taking one to make it 2 all.
But Kanturk stepped up the pace and took the lead again through Katie 3 - 2 . Not long after this Katie hit the cross bar.
Kinsale never gave up to be fair and managed to find an equalizer. Game winding up 3 all.
A great team performance from Kanturk and very unfortunate not to take all 3 points. A special mention has to go out to 3 players on the day (apart from Katie obviously) Clodagh who stepped in goal for us, Cara who stepped into the centre half roll and Lucy in centre midfield, all excellent on the day.
Well done everyone. Thanks to all the parents that travelled to support the girls. Happy Christmas and hope everyone has an enjoyable holiday.
